When most people say "I need some transmission repairs done.", they usually mean that
they had some transmission problems and had them fixed.

In fact, the term repair has a very specific meaning at a quality transmission shop.

Transmission work generally falls into one of three categories Repairs, Overhauls and
Replacements. A Repair is when the malfunctioning parts are located and replaced leaving
the remaining parts intact.

A Transmission Overhaul or Rebuild is when the unit is completely disassembled and
inspected. All visibly bad parts are replaced as well as all of the known wearable parts.
At this time, we at Transmission Technology add any upgrades that are available for that
particular unit.

A Transmission Replacement is when the unit is removed from the car or truck and then
replaced with a completely different remanufactured transmission or a good used unit
depending on the customer's decision.
